Tens of thousands of people lined the beaches of Pensacola Friday to see their hometown team take to the skies. The Blue Angels completed a practice demonstration in preparation of Saturday's huge Pensacola Beach Air Show. 

Above average crowds filled the Pensacola Beaches both Thursday and Friday afternoon, and Saturday is expected to be even bigger. An excess of 300,000 people are expected to be in attendance Saturday afternoon as the Blue Angels make their first official air show appearance in Pensacola following the loss of Captain Jeff Kuss.

Dozens of blue and yellow flags flew high along the beach, as well as from porches and hotel balconies. A majority wore the number six In honor of Captain Jeff Kuss.

Saturday's show may be different from what fans are used to seeing, as only five planes will fill the skies above the Cradle of Naval Aviation. Lt. Ryan Chamberlain adds a new twist to the demonstration, but you'll have to wait to see it for yourselves.

Captain Katie Higgins will pilot Fat Albert as she makes her last Pensacola Beach Air Show appearance. Commander Ryan Bernacchi and Lt. Lance Benson get their first taste of a Pensacola Beach Air Show from the air.

The beach will starting filling up well before dawn Saturday morning, along with local parking lots and restaurants. The air show begins at 11:45 AM with Team Redline, Skip Stewart, Kevin Coleman, and Gary Ward. The Blue Angels will make their appearance over the beach at 2:00 PM.
