Blue Angels Give Lake Michigan Double Dose

The Blue Angels are back in the skies, and have just wrapped up a three-day show weekend at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan. After arriving to Cherry Capital Airport on Wednesday, the team completed not one, not two, but five flight demonstrations over the Traverse Bay, with the final demonstration being a special Independence Day demo in front of thousands of spectators enjoying the 4th of July holiday with beautiful weather.

Now, the team buckles down and prepares to spend another week alongside Lake Michigan, as they head to Gary, Indiana for the 2016 Gary Air Show. Tuesday, Lt. Tyler Davies will head to the southern tip of Lake Michigan, and will touch down at the Gary-Chicago International Airport, where the team will be staged for the weekend's event. The show will take place Saturday and Sunday at Marquette Park, the team's second straight remote location, right on the beaches of Lake Michigan.

Following the conclusion of this weekend's show, the team will head home to Pensacola, Florida, where they'll begin preparing for the 2016 Pensacola Beach Air Show. The entire of City of Pensacola looks forward to the team returning to the skies above Pensacola, just over a month after the loss of Captain Jeff Kuss. The beach show will mark the third straight remote show cite for the team, with show center being located at the Pensacola pier.
