Multiple Air Shows Cancelled Due to COVID-19

Following the decisions of numerous collegiate and professional sports leagues and association along with other event organizers around the country, air show organizers are beginning to cancel shows nationwide with concerns of COVID-19 growing.
Wednesday afternoon, the March Field Air and Space Expo was the first air show to announce a postponement, more than likely a cancellation as far as the 2020 show goes.
Thursday, the list began rapidly growing, with multiple shows cancelling or closing the show to the general public. Here is a current list of all show cancellations, and it will be updated frequently:
MCAS Yuma Air Show, Arizona: Event organizers have cancelled the 2020 event, scheduled for March 13-14. The F-35 Lightning II Demonstration Team was scheduled to headline the event.
NAF El Centro Air Show, California: With guidance from the California Department of Public Health, the 50th anniversary NAF El Centro Air Show has been cancelled. The show was scheduled for March 14, and was the season opener for the Blue Angels.
Fiesta of Flight, Texas: After meetings with local civilian and military health officials, event organizers have decided to cancel the 2020 air show set to be held this weekend. This weekend’s show was headlined by the Thunderbirds, who were scheduled to arrive later today.
Los Angeles County Air Show, California: Event organizers have decided to cancel the 2020 show, scheduled for March 21-22. The cancellation comes at the guidance and direction of Los Angeles County, federal, local, and state health officials. The show was being headlined by the Blue Angels.
Luke Days 2020, Arizona: In order to mitigate health risks for attendees, the 2020 show has been cancelled. The show was scheduled for March 21-22 and was headlined by the Thunderbirds.
Tampa Bay AirFest 2020, Florida: The 2020 show has been postponed until further notice. The show was scheduled to be held March 28-29, with the Blue Angels headlining the event.
March Field Air & Space Expo, California: Air show officials announced the 2020 event is postponed, with a rescheduled date to be determined. The show was scheduled for March 28-29 and was being headlined by the Thunderbirds.
SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, Florida: Lakeland City officials have announced that this year’s SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, scheduled for March 31-April 5, has been postponed until May 5-10. On April 17, officials will reassess the situation to see whether another postponement needs to be made.
Wings Over South Texas Air Show, Texas: Naval Air Station Kingsville has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Wings Over South Texas Air Show, scheduled for April 4-5. The show was scheduled to be headlined by the Blue Angels
Maxwell AFB Air & Space Show, Alabama: Maxwell AFB has announced the cancellation of their 2020 show, scheduled for April 18-19. The show was scheduled to be headlined by the Thunderbirds.
Vero Beach Air Show, Florida: The Board of Directors of the Vero Beach Air Show have announced that the 2020 show, scheduled for April 25-26, has been postponed. The 2020 show was scheduled to be headlined by the Blue Angels.
Wings Over Columbus Air Show, Mississippi: Columbus Air Force Base has announced the cancellation of their 2020 show, scheduled for April 25-26. The show was scheduled to be headlined by the Thunderbirds.
Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show, California: Event organizers announced the cancellation of the 2020 air show, scheduled for April 26.
Leaseweb Manassas Air Show, Virginia: The City of Manassas has made the decision to cancel their 2020 show, scheduled for May 1-3.
Thunder Over Louisville, Kentucky: The Kentucky Derby Festival has announced that Thunder Over Louisville has been rescheduled for August 15, 2020. The show was originally scheduled for April 18.
